Vintage Motor Cycles (1960)

Wrentham, Suffolk.

M/S of TT rider Brian Green arriving at his father’s garage on a Norton motorcycle with side trailer; we see his father, Lance Green, working on a machine; there are other vintage motorbikes parked outside the garage.

M/Ss and C/Us of Lance working on a 1912 Triumph motor cycle – stripped down to the bare bones by the looks of it – while Brian looks on. M/S of the bike; C/U of the belt.

M/S and C/U of a 1913 Belgian FN motorcycle with shaft drive instead of the conventional belt.

M/S as Lance makes a few adjustments to a 1914 Scot (Scott?) Twin 2 Stroke Water Cooled Machine with a wicker sidecar of 1903; and then starts it. M/S of Brian and a woman running along and pushing the Ner-A-Car of 1922 which has a push start; they run round the corner and along towards the road; Brian jumps on and drives off as Lance rides round the corner on the 1914 bike. He stops so the woman can get into the sidecar and drives off.

M/S from a moving vehicle as Brian speeds along a country road on the Ner-A-Car, followed by his father and the woman in the 1914 bike. Lance overtakes Brian and we see his front wheel in C/U as he rides along.

Note: print is quite scratched. There is a small newspaper article on file about Brian and Lance Green. Cuts exist – see separate record.
